I’m happy to be living in Montrose, Colorado, full time now and be a part of the fly fishing scene in the Uncompahgre Valley. Our central location allows for easy travel in and around the beautiful San Juan Mountains, and through the historic towns of Ridgway, Ouray, and Telluride, where you’ll find numerous rivers and streams full of trout, including the Gold Medal waters of the Gunnison River.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the fly fishing industry as a guide and manager, managing fly shops and guide services, developing and managing angling programs, and working with high-end lodges in various parts of the world, I have been able to build a network of key professionals across shops and businesses in Colorado and beyond. Whether you’re interested in fly fishing in Colorado, the Catskills of New York, Chile, or New Zealand, I am happy to assist with planning your adventure. I can provide insight and recommendations for destinations, rivers, outfitters, and gear, as well as help to develop your trip itinerary – from initial planning through the booking process.
Depending on timing and destinations, I coordinate and host trips, as well as work with other businesses and shops who manage travel to premier fly fishing destinations and lodges that offer world-class fishing. These trips typically include groups of 3 to 10 anglers, with planning beginning well in advance of departure to ensure availability and maximize your experience during the best fly fishing opportunities.
In addition to working with individual anglers and groups, I have assisted small businesses and fly shops with operational support, contract guiding, web development, photography, sales and marketing, and software implementation and training. Sometimes it can really help to bring in a professional with a different perspective, and to also have an additional resource for important issues and projects that have been put off for far too long. If you’re a business in need of assistance managing your fly shop/guide service operations or developing new programs and services, I can work with you and your staff as a team, at your location. I can also help analyze and streamline overall operations to increase profitability for your business.
Consulting services can be provided on an hourly or project basis. The standard hourly rate is $60 per hour. Rates for projects lasting more than 20 hours can be negotiated. Please contact me to discuss timing and planning that works best for you or your operation.
