Well it’s not looking much like winter yet here in the Rockies. We’re still waiting for the storms to hit and the snow to fall. But I’m sure it will come. It’s been in the 40s lately, and whatever snow we do get in the mountains, doesn’t last very long. But it is good to get out with the fly rod while we’re having this relatively warm weather. I fished up at the Taylor River C&R today for about 4 hours. The weather was great and the fishing was fair. My nicest fish was this fat 23-inch rainbow which I got on a size 20 black midge. I couldn’t spread my hand wide enough to pick it up out of the net and had to use two hands. It was a very nice fish with beautiful colors. Not too bad for winter.
