East River
I fished the East River this afternoon for a couple of hours. It was really cold, with the rod icing up constantly, but the fishing was excellent. Several rainbows and cutbows had very pretty colors like this one below.

Dave, Vito, and I fished a tailwater section of the Gunnison River yesterday and had a great day. It was cold and snowy, but the fishing was very good. Here is an interesting shot of a nice rainbow after the release, as it heads back out into the current.
Here is another pretty rainbow from the Gunnison River yesterday. I landed some really nice rainbows and browns throughout the day. We’ve had great weather and really good fishing this week.
Dave and I had a pretty good day on the Gunnison River yesterday. We didn’t catch a lot of fish, but we landed some nice rainbows. I love fishing here in the fall, especially during the month of October.

Fall is a great time to be out there fishing. It is also when brown trout spawn, so we should leave spawning trout alone during this time. You can always target non-spawning fish that are off the redds (spawning beds) and any rainbow trout (since they spawn in the spring).…
This is a great time to fish the Taylor River. The mountain scenery is spectacular and the fishing is very good. Jane caught this beautiful brown trout up in the Taylor Canyon this week. It was a really nice fish and a fun afternoon!
I had a really fun day on Saturday on the Taylor River at Crystal Creek guiding John and Cliff. They nymphed the deep runs and caught lots of browns, rainbows, and cutbows. It was an excellent day!
Joe had a couple of good days of fishing with me this week on the East River and the Gunnison River. He caught some nice browns and rainbows on our lease on the Gunnison River today. And we were also lucky enough to dodge the rain storms.
