Had a fun trip on the Taylor River today with Erik, Walt, Matt, and Roger.
The small streams are in really good shape now and fishing well. Jay and I had a fun day up in the mountains yesterday. Next week should be prime time for bug action and dry fly fishing.
I spent the day up in the mountains yesterday, driving dirt roads that climb up to the snow-capped peaks where my favorite small creeks begin their long journey to the valleys below. The creek I fished is about 6 to 8 feet wide in most spots, with plenty of twists…

We got hit with a big snow storm recently, and we ended up with about a foot of snow here in Gunnison. The mountains have received between 2 and 3 feet of snow from this storm. I think most of us have had it with winter. It will be interesting…
Hit a nice BWO hatch on the Gunnison River yesterday. The weather was miserable, with snow, rain, sleet, and wind. But in between the squalls, the bugs hatched and the fish were after them.
