Calm before the storm

We’ve all been waiting for the coming of Draco – a fairly big winter storm which is supposed to hit our area tonight and tomorrow. It was overcast and in the low 30s, so I decided to hike in and fish the East River. There was some fresh snow on the ground, which made for a nice scenic backdrop. It looked like it was snowing from Round Mountain up all afternoon (as you can see in the photo below), but it didn’t do anything to the south where I was. So I got a bit of a hike in and managed to catch a few fish. The rainbow below was especially pretty.
