Dave with another nice Gunnison River rainbow trout. It was a bit slow fishing at times yesterday, but we got some good fish. (And the trout seemed to like my new Riffle and Rise Outfitters hat.)
Dave caught some really nice rainbows yesterday. This was just one of many. It’s also good to see the small rainbows in the river. They are pretty little fish with their par marks, and they will hopefully be around for several years to come.
This big rainbow was fun to land on my new bamboo rod. The bow was over 22 inches and was really thick.

The recent cold snap slowed down the run-off, and the rivers have dropped and cleared. It was cold yesterday when I got to the river (upper 20s), but it warmed up and fishing was very good. I even found a nice brookie.

After the midge hatch was done yesterday afternoon, trout started jumping on stonefly nymphs. It was cold, windy, and snowing off and on, but the fishing was pretty good.
