It’s been warming up in the afternoons to about the mid 20s and I’ve been getting out on the Taylor River to fish a bit. I fished in the Taylor Canyon yesterday for about an hour or so, and then I headed up to the C&R stretch below the dam. It was cold up there, but the fishing was good. I stayed until the sun set and was the only angler on the river.
It may not look like it in this photo since I was holding the trout so close to my camera in my other hand, but this was a nice chunky, 20-inch brown. It was a challenge to land since I was standing way up on a steep bank, crotch-deep in snow, and I had to make my way down into the river to land it. That’s winter fishing!
